ThrottleStop

ThrottleStop is a small program designed to regulate the voltage supplied to the processor and its operating frequency. It is considered a good alternative to the proprietary utility Intel Extreme Tuning Utility (XTU). If you have problems with XTU, you can switch to the simpler ThrottleStop application.

ThrottleStop functionality:

  • configuring and regulating processor performance;
  • adapted to Intel I and Intel Core 2 devices;
  • presets of steam meters in several profiles;
  • Displays CPU data, including number of cores, current load, and temperature.

All of the options listed are contained in a simple, intuitive interface. To access the convenient application, just download ThrottleStop in Russian on our website.

ThrottleStop interface:

Z

The user is greeted with a classic interface for this type. Minimalism in design is combined with a not very convenient color scheme. The window under the utility logo contains 4 preset modes of use:

  • Performance. Optimal performance.
  • Game. Game mode
  • Internet. For surfing the Internet.
  • Battery. Energy-saving mode

All 4 presets initially have the same settings and are configured separately. The Setting section contains basic settings. With their help, you can configure turbo mode, disable instructions, write LOG files, and control processor frequencies.

The processor model, core frequency, northbridge, and heat dissipation are displayed at the top right. The table with dynamic values displays processor performance indicators:

  • FID—processor core multiplier.
  • С0% – processor load level.
  • MOD – processor operating mode (100% – the processor is running in full mode).
  • C – operating temperature.
  • Max – maximum temperature reached during operation.

The indicator PKG below the table is the current heat dissipation, Max is the maximum permissible heat dissipation. Limits Prochot – maximum temperature, after exceeding which throttling will begin.

Key Features

  • allows you to adjust the frequencies and voltages of the central processor;
  • only suitable for Intel Core i or Core 2;
  • allows you to create your own settings profiles;
  • can not only overclock the device, but also perform “downvolt”;
  • displays technical information about the CPU.
